Clockwork Arts Publishing is an independent publishing imprint founded by Irish writer Tina O’Rourke.

Created as a home for Tina’s independently published work, Clockwork Arts brings together fiction, theatre and other creative projects developed across a writing career spanning more than thirty years.

At its heart is a belief in stories that are carefully made — stories shaped by character, imagination, observation and the strange spaces that sometimes exist between the ordinary and the unexpected.

Every book begins somewhere — a line, an image, a character, a voice that refuses to disappear.

Clockwork Arts gives some of those ideas a home in print. It is an independent publishing space where I can bring together new work alongside writing that has grown from my earlier life in theatre, film and the creative arts.

My work includes fiction, theatre, children’s writing, essays and creative non-fiction. Clockwork Arts is home to selected publications from that wider body of work.

About Tina O’Rourke

I’m an Irish writer based in Galway on the west coast of Ireland.

Writing has been part of my creative life for more than thirty years. In my twenties, I founded and ran Clockwork Theatre Company, writing, directing and producing work for the stage. My screenplay Paper Dolls received an RTÉ short script award, and I later wrote for magazines and worked as an editor.

Over the years, my work has moved through theatre, film, publishing, design and education, but writing has remained the thread running through it all.

Clockwork Arts Publishing grew from that history. Its name reaches back to my theatre beginnings while giving selected work a publishing home today.
